ABSTRACT
The surroundings of Lake Lednickie, situated in the middle Wielkopolska are an important historical area, the birthplace of the Polish State. The thorough geobotanical studies conducted in this area over the last few years brought unexpected results. Despite many centuries of settlement and agricultural pressure, the localities of numerous rare and endangered native plant species on the scale of the whole Wielkopolska, such as: Cephalantera damasonium, Cypripedium calceolus, Saxifraga hirculus, Pinguicula vulgaris subsp. vulgaris and Phyllitis scolopendrium, were found.
